Candle Care

With a little bit of thoughtful care, you can prolong the life of your Seattle Candle Co. Candles.

Here’s how:

ALLOW FOR AN EXTENDED FIRST BURN

Candles made from soy wax have a "memory."  When you burn and extinguish a soy wax candle for the first time, the edge of the wax pool creates a boundary for future burns. During the first burn, allow enough time for the melted wax to reach all sides of the container. This will ensure that the candle does not tunnel, leaving wax along the sides of the container.

TRIM THE WICK

Candles burn best when the wicks are trimmed to a quarter inch prior to burning.  Our wicks are woven with a paper filament to encourage self-trimming as the candle burns, but trimming the wick will help to support an even burn.

KEEP AWAY FROM DRAFTS

When choosing a safe spot to burn your candle, keep it away from drafts. This will help extend the candle life and reduce the amount of soot it produces.
